The Australians in Film Awards honored Jai Courtney, James Wan, Ridley Scott and Greg Basser.

The star-studded gala, hosted by Australian comedian Tim Minchin and held at NeueHouse Hollywood, celebrated the different achievements of Australian films. Praising one of the night's honoress, Minchin said, Rebel [Wilson] has been known to be funny! I love her so much, it makes me really happy!"

The Hollywood Reporter shared that it was actor Joel Edgerton who started the ceremony by presenting Jai Courtney with one of two FOXTEL Breakthrough Awards. "He is a rare person in that he can do that something--he can shoot guys and be that guy but there's something very intelligent and subtle about his performances," Edgerton said.

"No one really thought I would be a good actress let alone successful!" said Wilson in her hertfelt acceptance speech, adding, "The whole journey has been very hard, but I do really love what I do. I love being an actress, entertaining people and doing a job that I'm super passionate about."

She also took to Twitter to express her joy over her award, and posted a picture of her hugging Paul Feig onstage.

"The genius & loveliest man @paulfeig presented me with my award! Paul gave me my first job in America in Bridesmaids!"

According to The Beat 92.5, Kate Marks, Australians in Film president, said that Rebel was chosen because she is a unique star who has "made her own influential mark in Hollywood and represents what this award is about,"

The show also honored director James Wan with Fox Studios Australia International Award, Ridley Scott with the Ausfilm International Award and Greg Basser with the Qantas Orry-Kelly International Award.
