After a world tour, a movie release and a divorce, Katy Perry is ready for a vacation. The singer is planning a three-month trip.
According to gossip sites, the "Part of Me" singer is planning a three-month getaway. After finalizing her divorce from Russell Brand this week, Perry, 27, is planning to take some time to really heal after a world tour and releasing her 3D documentary "Katy Perry Part of Me" over the past year. She is in the midst of planning a vacation to South America with her brother and friends.
'Ever since Katy split from Russell in December, she's been saying she wants to get away from everything and truly heal her heart," a source told Monsters & Critics.
'Katy said she wants to jet off to a place where she's never been. She's planning a three-month vacation with her brother David and one of her best pals. They've provisionally booked a trip to South America, starting off in Peru and doing the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu - something Katy's wanted to do," the source continued.
Perry has been craving a vacation for a while. After winning Artist of the Year at the NARM Music Awards, the singer finished her speech by saying, "I swear, after this song, I'm taking a f---ing vacation." The break is much deserved. Perry set a record by having five No. 1 singles from her 2010 album "Teenage Dream," including "California Gurls," "Teenage Dream," "Firework," "E.T." and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)."
Due to its success, Perry rereleased her album with more songs on "Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection." The album includes songs like "Part of Me" and Perry's latest single "Wide Awake." The songs were also part of the soundtrack for Perry's 3D movie which hit theaters on July 5.
Monsters & Critics also explained how Perry is currently dating Florence + The Machine guitarist Rob Ackroyd, but the relationship isn't serious. Perry is more focused on enjoying life after her painful divorce.
"Katy's realized that she can't date anyone so soon after her divorce. She wants to have fun. She's desperate to 'live it up," the source said.
Ex-husband Russell Brand recently revealed that a big reason for their divorce was the travel. In an interview with Howard Stern, he said "I loved her so much, it just seemed like the sensible thing to do [when we got married] ... I just loved her so much.
However after marrying Perry, he realized "this isn't really working out, it's a difficult situation ... I was really, really in love with her, but it was difficult to see each other," he told Stern.
The couple married in a lavish wedding in India in October of 2010. In December of 2011, Russell Brand filed for divorce from Perry. Their divorce was finalized on July 16, 2012.
