The creators of the American TV series "The Vampire Diaries" have confirmed that the show is about to come to an end with their Season 8 series finale earlier this summer. In line with this, spoilers about how the show will end have spread online and fans have been imagining and anticipating on how the show will end.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the creators of the series have already came up with the idea about which character will end up with who and they are pretty sure on how they will leave the show on its end.

According to co-creator Kevin Williamson, things are already final but leaves with a teaser. "Decisions are being made. People's lives are hanging in the balance. Relationships hang in the balance. Who's going to end up with whom?"

Williamson also said that all along, he knew how the show should end.

"I even wrote it, and it didn't feel right. Something was wrong, so I rewrote it," according to Williamson, who is also known for writing stories with love triangles like "The Dawson's Creek."

In "The Dawson's Creek," fans were expecting that Joey would end up with Dawson but as the show ended, Joey ended up with Pacey instead. If "The Vampire Diaries" fans know about this, they might already have a clue on who Elena would end up with.

"You have to be open to change and be able to evolve and keep an open mind, because the next idea may be the best one," Williamson added.

On the other hand, Celeb Dirty Laundry predicted that Elena will be back and the Season 8 will include a Elena and Stefan reunion which would also mean that Caroline and Klaus will have their own reunion.

They also predicted that Damon will turn dark and push Elena away, and Elana would seek comfort from Stefan who is her first love. This would break Caroline's heart, meaning Klaus will be waiting in the wings for her.

Williamson said that coming up with ideas on how they will end their show is tehir way of saying 'thank you' to the fans who supported the show up until it's series finale.

"You want to say thank you to the audience and you also want to satisfy them. Not just one last time, but for the ultimate time. And you want that last episode to give them such a reward for sticking with you and watching this show all the years," he said.
