Shane Black is allegedly working on a friend crime comedy. The title of the film is reportedly "The Nice Guys."

"The Nice Guys" features actors Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, as reported in Indiewire.com. Word has it that this film has so far received favorable reviews. Black, though, allegedly has plans to be a director of a movie version of the character of Doc Savage. Doc Savage was a superhero character from the 1930's and 1940's pulp novels. This character apparently posses extreme intelligence like no other.

Doc Savage was allegedly also an inspiration of a couple of radio shows. These radio shows were inspired by the creation of Superman. The characters included in the upcoming film that features Doc Savage include Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Johnson confirmed his inclusion in the cast of the upcoming film in his Instagram account.

Johnson gives his description of the leading superhero character in the film as having a genius like intellect, who has good intuitive senses beyond what anybody can comprehend. Johnson reveals that he is eager to play the role of Doc Savage due to the latter's weirdo, yet funny personality.

After talking with Shane Black, Johnson revealed he understood the reasons why the director only showcased the best parts of Savage's personality, but left out the strange personality of the character. Johnson, did admit, though, the strange personality of Savage was what was made the character awkwardly funny unlike any other.

"Doc Savage" is an upcoming film that would have Johnson as co-producer. Johnson would co-produce the film in his Seven Bucks Production banner. The film has yet to start being shot.

Shane Black directed "Iron Man 3." Black was also the writer of "Lethal Weapon," as reported in The Hollywood Reporter.

Sony Pictures is reportedly the film company that would distribute the upcoming "Doc Savage" film, as reported in Comingsoon.net.
