CBS has dropped the official first look at its upcoming new superhero offering this fall, 'Supergirl.' From the looks of it, netizens are divided on their opinion about the show based on its official trailer.

On Wednesday, CBS dropped the first look at 'Supergirl' on Youtube.

The description of the trailer reads: "It's not a bird. It's not a plane. It's not a man. It's Supergirl. In the new drama from the world of DC Comics, Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El, embraces her superhuman abilities and becomes the hero she was always meant to be. This Fall on CBS."

The six minutes and thirty-six seconds clip presented a lot of things about the network's new take on the very familiar superhero.

Many fans were quickly impressed with the series' potential based on the first look.

"Can't wait to tune in!" a FailArmy wrote.

YouTube user Chad Everett did not only commend the series but also shared his thoughts on lead star Melissa Benoist.

"I'm gonna be honest. when I first heard she was cast as this role I was expecting this show to be a flop because I have a huge disliking for her acting abilities after glee, however this looks amazing. I will watch this and i'm super excited," Everett wrote.

"Sweet! A female super hero!! Nice to see this!" a Matt Velazquez commented.

Meanwhile, there were also others who did not really like the trailer of 'Supergirl' and were quick to judge the show ahead of its air date.

"This looks sh*t, right out my ar*e," a Dean Dobbs wrote.

"Don't know why, I cringe the whole time. Nevertheless, I will give it a go. Probably not for me," an Elijah Pw commented.

"Can't we just have a cool female superhero and not make it a shi**y soap made for day time tv? Supergirl is supposed to be badass, not a silly teen girl that makes quirky remarks. Also? WTF DID YOU DO TO JIMMY. My god. If you NEED black characters so you can feel pc enough, add one like Diggle from Arrow. He was done well. Making an iconic character a f**king woman or black is ridiculous and disrespectful to the fans who have followed DC comics for years," a 149chris wrote.

Still, there are those who are hopeful that Supergirl will make it and pass everyone's standards.

"Hmm... It probably won't hit the high bar The Flash set with it's premiere this year, but it'll probably start out better than Arrow, which certainly has become a solid show in it's own right over time," Jake Weisz wrote.
