Ciara is now ready to discuss her split from rapper Future nearly a year ago. The "I Bet" singer also dished about her "greatest joy" in her life right now.

Ciara stopped by The Breakfast Club on Tuesday and openly talked about her split from the Atlanta MC and singer.

"It clearly didn't work out," she said of their breakup.

Then, she admitted that it didn't go to waste since they have sired a child together, whom she considers her greatest joy in life.

"But I have the greatest gift, the greatest joy of my life is my son," the 29-year-old singer said of their child named Future Zahir Wilburn.

"Honestly, I feel like everything in life happens for a reason, and my son has been the greatest gift that God has given me in my life and been the most game changing thing that's happened to my life in a necessary way," Ciara explained.

So is she and Future on talking terms? The "Love Sex Magic" songstress said they are on good terms as they still are communicating and are doing a good job of co-parenting their child.

However, Ciara didn't give details about their sudden split, reports Design & Trend.

"I can't really break all that down, because I don't think it really matters to tell you the truth," she said. "Especially, again, when the ending is as great as it is with my son. That's what worked out, my son."

Future has yet to respond to Ciara's statements.
