'How To Get Away With Murder' actress Viola Davis is getting away from the hit ABC show after its freshman run. The actress is reportedly not enjoying her work with the series despite previous reports claiming she's leaving the show because of family reasons.

ABC's hot new drama "How To Get Away With Murder" is said to be losing its lead actress after Davis has revealed that she's not interested in returning for the show's sophomore run.

The show's execs and Davis reportedly have an "amicable" split since Davis cited that she needs to work on some serious family issues while she's away from the show.

Daily Mail reports that there was actually a more serious reason why Davis is departing the series and it has something to do with what's going on behind the camera.

"Davis didn't feel that connected to the cast or the script," a source said. "After filming the first couple of episodes, she just wanted out."

"She knows that fans are already dedicated to the show and can't wait for season 2, but she couldn't go on,"  another insider added. "She wants to work on a show that actually makes her happy."

Davis notably received a lot of praise for her effective portrayal of lead character Annalise Keating, a professor and a famous lawyer who gets entangled in the lives of her students: Laurel, Wes, Asher, Michaela and Connor.

On the other hand, the rest of the cast has already confirmed their return for "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 2. Hence, it would be interesting to know how the writers would deal with Davis' departure from the series.

However, it appears that news about Davis' departure from the series is all bogus and is just one of Design & Trends streak of April Fools' Day prank news.
