Los Angeles Lakers head coach Byron Scott is contemplating on inserting Jeremy Lin back to the starting lineup soon, although it's not sure where he'll regain his old role as a playmaker or play alongside Jordan Clarkson at the two-guard slot.

In an interview with NBA Insider Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News, Scott revealed that he intends to start Lin at some point in the final 25 games of the season.

Lin, who started the first 20 games for the Lakers before losing his job to his backup Ronnie Price, could receive extended playing time from Scott heading into the homestretch mark of the season following a series of solid performances the past three games.

After averaging at least 10 points and 4 dimes in 25 minutes per game before All-Star break, Lin returned from his one-week vacation on a strong note, scoring 18 points in a loss to the Brooklyn Nets and then racking up a season-high 25 points with six assists in a hard-earned overtime win against the Boston Celtics. In both games, the former Harvard standout shot 67 percent from the field, and more importantly, played with more toughness on both ends of the floor.

Lin didn't shot pretty well (8 points on 3-for-12 shooting and 4-0 from three-point line) in Wednesday's win over the Utah Jazz, but he nevertheless maintained the level of aggressiveness he showed the past two games, particularly on the defensive end.

Lin, who is set to become an unrestricted free-agent this coming summer, will benefit tremendously from the additional playing time as he looks to pad up his stats and save his free-agency stock from further spiraling downward.

Although it's still unclear whether he'll replace Clarkson, who is also playing exceptionally well at the point, or play off with him in the Lakers backcourt, Lin has proven over the years that he's versatile enough to play both guard spots.

On Friday, the Lakers will try to salvage their third consecutive win as they play host to the Milwaukee Bucks at the Staples Center.
