Where can you go that has history, gorgeous beaches, national parks, culture, quaint villages, rolling vineyards, and ancient architecture all in one place? Well there might be a few places, but Croatia is definitely one of them that comes highly recommended.

The two most popular sites in Croatia are Dubrovnik, or "Pearl of the Adriatic," and Plitvice National Park. Dubrovnik is a beautiful, walled city by the sea topped with coral terracotta roofs on every building. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site due to the rich history of the city. Dubrovnik is known to get a bit crowded during peak season, so if you are looking to avoid other tourists this may not be the best place in Croatia to go.

Plitvice National Park is a must-see if you venture to Croatia. It is the oldest National Park in Southeast Europe and the largest in Croatia. It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Natural Site, and is known for the breathtaking 16 lakes arranged in cascades.

One of the hidden gems of Croatia is the The Zagorje region, which is a peaceful place with never-ending green hills and winding country roads. It is an area of Croatia where you can escape the busy touristic nature of Dubrovnik and enjoy the amazing vineyards and castles this tranquil place has to offer. Zagorje also offers some of the best swimming pools and saunas using their natural spring water to rejuvenate your skin.

Croatia is a country made-up of thousands of amazing and unique beaches and islands. It is challenging to narrow down the options considering there are so many to choose from. One of the most popular beaches is Zlatni Rat, on Brac Island. The "Golden Cape" is a beach that juts out into the sea in a way that sunbathers can enjoy the views of turquoise waters on both sides. This beach tends to draw a crowd, but reviews say that the beauty is worth it. Also on Brac Island is Lovrecina Bay, a less crowded beach that is also stunningly picturesque.

Within Croatia there are many off the beaten track villages, beaches, islands, and small towns that provide the feeling of an untouched corner of Europe. If this is the kind of vacation you enjoy, definitely consider looking into places such as Vis Island, one of the most remote islands of Croatia.

You cannot choose a wrong place to visit within this country because there is culture, history, and beauty to witness throughout the entire Dalmatian land.
