The Golden State Warriors have become the latest team to join the sweepstakes for the service of the greatest three-point bomber of all-time in Ray Allen, according to multiple sources.

Sources close to situation indicated that the Warriors have suddenly emerged as one of the three favorites to land Allen, who remains a free-agent up to this point of the season.

Allen, 10-time NBA All-Star and the league's most prolific three-point artist in history, will reportedly start meeting his suitors in January, with the possibility of making his decision before All-Star break in February.

"Ray Allen is telling teams to talk to him in January and that he'll make a decision about his future in February," Ryen Russillo of ESPN Radio posted on his Twitter account.

While many insiders pointed the Cleveland Cavaliers as the huge favorite to acquire Allen, there are reports that it's going to be a three-team race with the Warriors, Clippers and Cavs in contention.

"The Cavs remain the favorite to sign him, according to Russillo, though Allen and his camp have continually insisted that he's unsure whether he wants to play, much less which team he'd want to play for," according to Hoops Rumors.

The 39-year old Allen averaged 9.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in his final year with the Miami Heat, who previously expressed interest in keeping Allen for this season's campaign.

"The Cavs, Wizards, Bulls and Spurs are among a group of seven teams that maintain interest in signing free agent Ray Allen, tweets Chris Broussard of ESPN.com. Allen has been spending time in Miami and continuing to stay in shape," according to Hoops Rumors.

Over 17 seasons in the league, Allen shot an outstanding 40 percent from the three-point arc and 45 percent from the field. He also has a great shooting percent from the free-throw line (89 percent from the charity stripe), while averaging 18.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.
