Cops shoot Cleveland rec center and wounded a 12-year-old boy. The young victim was standing outside the center last Saturday and was shot after he attempted to reach into his waistband to get what turned out to be just an airsoft gun.

Two officers quickly responded to a call about a man who was waving a pistol and pointing it a people at the Cuddell Recreation Center at around 3:30 p.m. The caller described the gun in the 911 call as "probably fake."

As soon as the local police located the boy, they ordered him to put his hands up in the air. Unfortunately, he refused to comply. Instead, the boy reached into his waistband and grabbed what the local police initially thought was a loaded firearm. At this point, one of the officers opened fire and hit the boy in his torso.

Eventually, the cops shoot Cleveland rec center stated that the gun was actually "an airsoft type replica gun resembling a semi-automatic pistol" with its orange safety indicator taken out. Although it looked real, it was only a toy gun that shot pellets just like how a BB gun does.

With a gunshot wound on his torso, the boy was immediately brought to the hospital and had to undergo a surgery on Saturday evening. He is now in stable condition. Also, one of the officers was also brought into the hospital to be treated for an injury he acquired on his ankle.

The local police purposely did not release the names of the cops shoot Cleveland rec center who were involved in the shooting incident. Both of them will be placed on administrative leave while the investigation regarding this recent incident is still ongoing. This is the standard protocol for all shootings that involved personnel from the police.
