Missing hikers California - Around 15 hikers have been confirmed to have gone missing after over the weekend. The said hikers were reportedly last seen at around 9:30 am, Sunday. The group of hikers ages 14 to 36 were part of the 30-group church members trekking Eaton Canyon.

Known to be a popular spot for hiking at the Angeles National Forest, the Eaton Canyon has once again been home to missing hikers California. Back in 2011, Eaton Canyon had gained a reputation for the deaths of five hikers. Back in March 2013, one 17-year old girl had died after falling off the cliff which led to a fatal head injury.

Before the latest reports on the missing hikers California, the Upper Falls of the Eaton Canyon had been closed in the early part of 2014. A number of injuries and rescues were noted in the area. Obviously, despite the said rescues and injuries, part of the Eaton Canyon was open for the hikers of the church group that had gone missing.

According to reports by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department, the hikers were noted to be missing at around 9: 30 in the evening. The group of 15 missing hikers California were scheduled to return at 6 pm but had not. A search and rescue operation has already been implemented.

"They all have backpacks with food, water, a short piece of rope and extra clothing," says Deputy Dan Paige in a report by FOX News, adding, "So some of them are pretty well prepared."

Investigations claim that the group of missing hikers California must have gotten off track or had stopped to rest. An additional search team has been sent out via helicopters to scan the area.

"We're assuming that they got tired and they stopped," says Wendolyn Ortiz to KABC-TV.

The search for the missing hikers California continue.
