Forest service bear selfie - Apparently, common sense is lacking in a few tourists who have come across bears at Lake Tahoe. Forest service officials have already issued a warning against tourists who have made it a habit of rushing into bear territory for a selfie. Their actions could risk the closure of the area all for the safety of bears and tourists.

While bears are known to be docile, they would never hesitate to attack tourists especially those that charge into their territory for the sake of a "bear selfie." Forest service bear selfie has been an issue with the officials at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center at South Lake Tahoe.

"Bears are unpredictable, wild animals and may attack if threatened," stated Forest Supervisor Nancy Gibson in a report by TWC News, adding, "We can't have visitors creating dangerous situations for themselves and others. People are risking serious injury or death if they get too close to a bear."

There have been multiple reports of "mobs of people" in desperate attempts to take a selfie with bears. Obviously, there is no regard for their own safety nor of the animals in the area. There are yet to be injuries or casualties related to the forest service bear selfie.

However, according to USA Today one group had been chased by a bear because of their selfie. Such behaviour involved in forest service bear selfie by tourists could potentially lead to closure of the area. A number of bears known to live in South Lake Tahoe are the black bears that weigh 500 pounds and can run up to a speed of 35 mph.

If there is one that the forest service bear selfie is allowed, it would be none other than Smokey the Bear. In addition to asking tourists not to rush to bears for a selfie, the forest service has also advised people not to leave the marked trails all for capturing photos of the animals.
