Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) orders are expected to arrive after Japan showed off its first-ever airliner on Saturday.

Japan's newly introduced aircraft makes history as the country attempts to strengthen its aviation industry after many years. About 500 people attended the event on Saturday to witness the new product of technology in Japan. Presidents of customers ANA Holdings and Trans States Airlines were reportedly present at Nagoya Airfield wherein the enormous aircraft was displayed for its public appearance.

According to the latest report, Japan's first regional jet is almost ready to soar high in the air after having numerous delays. With about 375 orders already generated, the plane manufactured by the Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation is set to conduct its test flights in 2015. The first test flight will cover the 76 or 88 passenger-version of the plane with an expected delivery date in 2017.

Two versions of the Mitsubishi regional jet are being planned for release, the MRJ70 and the MRJ90 which actually differs in the number of passenger seats. It will be powered by two Pratt & Whitney Pure Power PW1200G engines which reportedly have the latest technology for low weight, environmental friendliness, noise reduction and efficiency. The airplane's launch is also expected to even more intensify the competition between companies that are manufacturing such kind of aircrafts.

Japan's launch of MRJ will make its debut as it enters the industry where the Boeing and its European rival Airbus Group dominates in terms of creating large planes while it will also compete against the Embraer SA and Bombardier in terms of smaller planes. China is also making its entry in the aviation industry after its test flight in 2008 while no new updates are revealed regarding its aircraft.

According to Design and Trend, Mitsubishi regional jet orders already includes 25 from All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd., 100 from Trans States Holdings, Inc., 200 from SkyWest, Inc. and 10 from Air Mandalay Limited.
