ISIS fighters are now flying warplanes with the help of Iraqi pilots who allegedly joined the militant group.

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria seemed to strengthen their forces as they reportedly take the air. According to the alleged recent statement released by a London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the extremists have three jets in their possession and that they are currently on the process of learning how to maneuver it. Although the report is reportedly not yet verified, there are claims that there are witnesses who could prove that the group is indeed flying near the Syrian airport.

If the recent update about the militant group's activity is true, then it will mark their first time to ever fly such warplanes. ISIS fighters reportedly make use of their captured warplanes in their flying sessions. According to Rami Abdulrahman, the runner of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, ISIS fighters who have been flying the jets at al-Jarrah military airport east of Aleppo actually have trainers who were identified as former Iraqi officers who joined the group.

Although the newest report present several facts, the U.S. military said on Friday that they are not fully aware about the rebels flying three warplanes. According to Central Command spokesman Colonel Patrick Ryder, their force will continue to keep an eye on the ISIS activities while they also continue to conduct series of airstrikes.

Abdulrahman also added in his report that there were people who saw that the militant group has been flying in the airport. The said flights were reportedly at a lower altitude and are in the air for about five to 10 minutes before it lands. Although witnesses could not identify the kind of warplanes that the ISIS were flying, the jet reportedly looks like a MiG 21 or MiG 23 models which are from the Syrian military.
