Mega Millions winning numbers for today's draw are to be revealed soon. The six lucky numbers of the winning ticket will be announced at exactly 11 p.m. EST this Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014.

Hundreds to millions of players are tuning in tonight for the drawing of the Mega Millions winning numbers, especially now that the jackpot prize is a whopping US$120M after the Aug. 22 Mega Millions draw has produced a winner for the $180M Mega Millions jackpot.

The Aug. 22 Mega Millions winner is remarkably the fifth major jackpot won in California this year. The Mega Millions winner was from a 7-Eleven on County Line Road in Calimesa, west of Los Angeles.

On Jun. 27, the Mega Millions draw also produced a winner from Texas. The Mega Millions winning numbers on Jun. 27 and Aug. 22 had won the Mega Millions jackpots of $33 million and $180 million respectively for its winners.

Meanwhile, today's $136 Mega Millions jackpot has a lump-sum cash option of $80 million.

People across the nation are getting more excited to grab the Mega millions jackpot prize of US$136 million in the multi-state Mega Millions game.

The $180 million Mega Millions winner on Aug. 22 was won by 53-year-old Rick Knudsen of Calimesa. Knudsen decided to take the cash option lump sum amount of $107 million before federal taxes, according to the Mega Millions website.

The Jun. 27 Mega Millions winner meanwhile, was never able to claim his or her jackpot prize. This is becoming more common for many winners of Mega Millions.

Many winners are not able to claim their prizes since they forget to watch, or are busy to check the Mega Millions winning numbers. A free Lottolotto app can now help players claim their billions of unclaimed prizes.

Still, the Mega Millions jackpot had been progressing since the last jackpot was won in California on Aug. 22.

This year the Mega Millions lottery game is producing more winners and more people are graced with the Mega Millions jackpot prizes.

The month of September has brought in two Mega Millions winners of $1 million dollars. Check them out here and here. August had three Mega Millions winners of $1 million dollars, while July had two Mega Millions $1 million-dollar winners.

In the meantime, tonight's Powerball game jackpot grand prize is US$70 million with the cash value of US$43 million after Vinh Nguyen from California won the $228.4 million jackpot on Sept. 24. Nguyen claimed his winnings and walked into the California Lottery's Hayward District office late Thursday afternoon with his winning Powerball ticket in hand. Purchased at Dehoff's Key Market located at 500 South Norfolk Street in San Mateo, the retailer will receive a bonus of $1 million for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.

As the Mega Millions game continues to produce jackpot winners of its players, the Mega Millions jackpot continues to rise, and so ticket sales have also skyrocketed for the Mega Millions lottery game.

Virginia Lottery Executive Director Paula Otto said on the sales of Mega Millions tickets, "The vast majority of our sales happen the day of the drawing."

The executive director also shared that Mega Millions ticket sales dramatically increase as the date of the draw gets nearer. This is also because most Americans like to buy Mega Millions tickets at the last minute.

However, Director of Budget, Products, and Communication for Arizona Lottery Karen Bach said that although ticket sales for Mega Millions have increased, odds of winning remain the same for tonight's Mega Millions drawing.

The winning numbers for the Friday Mega Millions draw were 03-20-34-58-67. The Gold Mega Ball is still 06, and the Megaplier is 03.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in 42 states including the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands for only $1, so it won't be surprising if we there will be a group of winners after tonight's Mega Millions draw.

In order to play and win the Mega Millions jackpot prize of $136 million on Oct. 7, a player must choose six numbers; five of which are from 1 to 75 while the remaining one is referred to as the Mega Ball and is only chosen from 1 to 15. If all of the numbers on the ticket of the player are the same digits flashed after the Mega Millions draw, then he or she will be bringing home the total jackpot prize.

It's harder than it looks however, because lottery officials say that the overall likelihood of winning the Mega Millions jackpot prize is 1 in over 259 million, while the odds of winning any prize at all is 1 in 14.7. On the other hand, there are also second-place prize of $1 million for tickets with five winning numbers.

The Mega Millions winning numbers are drawn every Tuesday and Friday at around 10:45 p.m. EST. Official results of the day's draw are posted shortly after 11 p.m. EST on the main webpage of the Mega Millions Lottery. Winnings are delivered in two options: one-time cash payment or in 30 separate payments.

If no one matches all six Mega Millions winning numbers in today's draw, the next Mega Millions jackpot will most likely go over the $145 million mark by the time the next drawing rolls around on Friday, Oct. 10.
