Los Angeles Lakers head coach Byron Scott really liked Jeremy Lin’s approach at training camp, lauding the Asian-American star for always pushing the ball and commanding the tempo of the game.

Scott, who revealed his admiration of Lin’s style of play even before he was officially hired as the Lakers newest head coach, said the former Harvard hot shot has not disappointed him a bit through the first days of drills and scrimmages at the Lakers training facility in El Segundo, California.

In an interview with Serena Winters of Lakers Nation, Scott said he liked Lin’s aggressive mindset in fast-break situations – which is something the Lakers coach is really looking for from his guards.

“Byron Scott on Jeremy Lin: "I love the way he pushes the ball in the open floor. He hasn't disappointed me at all,” reported by Winters, who has been covering the Lakers since the start of training camp.

Scott’s latest positive comment on Lin suggested that the 26-year old guard will have indeed a bigger role than he had a year ago as a backup playmaker for Patrick Beverley in Houston.

Averaging at least 12 points and 4 assists per game with the Rockets during the 2013-14 season, Lin is expected to play major minutes under Scott this season, especially if two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash continues to struggle with injuries.

The 40-year old Nash will likely get starting nod for the Lakers early this season, yet there’s no guarantee he can assume the role for the entire 82-game regular-season campaign.

Lin, who upped his field-goal (46 percent) and three-point (36 percent) shooting percentages, could have a chance to reignite his career after two up-and-down seasons with the Rockets. Analysts, including Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders, believed Lin will have a great opportunity to produce a better statistical year and pad up his stock in time for next summer’s free-agency.
