Ferguson police officer sustains injuries after being shot on Saturday night by unidentified suspects who are still at large.

A man hunt operation is still ongoing after one of the three suspects reportedly shot the victim. According to earlier reports, the authorities already identified the shooter as a black male with an average height of 5'11", wearing dark clothing with dreadlocks. Although members of the authority already revealed the suspect's physical features, no exact details about his identity has been yet confirmed.

The shooting incident between a Ferguson officer and a black male is actually being linked to a previous case. It can be recalled that an 18 year-old black man identified as Michael Brown was fatally shot by a white officer last month. It was later on found out that during the Saturday shooting incident, several protests were actually taking place in relation to the August 9 shooting; however, a report from the Guardian reveals that St Louis County police chief Jon Belmar said that the recent injuries sustained by the police from the attack has nothing to do with Brown's case.

Although Belmar thinks that the two cases are not related, the possibility of a connection between the two shooting incidents can't be eliminated from the picture since a tension is reportedly growing between the community and the Ferguson police following Brown's case. The identity of the victim is still held confidential while his injuries are said to be light. According to other reports, the injured official actually approached the men at around 9 PM; however, the incident turned sour when one of the men fired.

Although shots have been fired, it was revealed that the Ferguson officer's injuries were sustained from a flying glass; therefore, it is not really life-threatening at all while he is expected to recover soon.
