Halloween is fast approaching and what better way to celebrate it that hit up a famous haunted spot. Reportedly, there is one in Vancouver that is worth taking a look at. The name of the place alone is sure to give anyone the spooks. Here's all there is to know about Blood Alley Vancouver.

Blood Alley Vancouver reportedly got its name because of the blood splattered on the streets. This was the best place to head to for fresh meat as butchers would line up the area. Aside from the blood splatters from fresh meat, Blood Alley Vancouver also got its share of blood from the public executions held in the area.

During the 20th century, Blood Valley Vancouver was also the commonplace for petty thieves and muggers and murderers. Due to the murders and executions in the area, the place is filled with psychic energy that has attracted a number of ghost hunters. Tourists are bound to hear ghost stories from the locals especially about places in Water Street.

However, John Atkin claims Blood Valley Vancouver is simply just an evocative name for the place. While guide books and a number of tour websites claim the place is haunted, Atkin states Blood Alley was just a name given in the 1970 during the beautification and renovation of Gastown.

Well, for those who still seek the creepy kind of adventure in Vancouver, the Haunted Vancouver Trolley Tour starts on November 1 for tours of Vancouver's scariest sites. On the lighter side of Blood Alley Vancouver, tourists can also enjoy a variety of food served in the area by a number of restaurants namely the Salt Tasting Room and Judas Goat Taberna. There's also a number of outlet stores for some retail therapy and a number of businesses offering a range of services.
