Qatar Airways flight QR23 has been escorted by military jets Tuesday after a man was accused of making a hoax bomb threat. Due to the 'hoax', concerns were raised about Qatar Airways flight QR23, reports The Daily Mail.

After touchdown of Qatar Airways flight QR23, police arrested the man on suspicion of making a hoax bomb threat. According to the CBC, he warned the pilot of a possible device on the aircraft.

As such, a Typhoon jet was sent by the Royal Air Force (RAF) Coningsby in Lincolnshire to accompany the plane into land following information from the pilot of the alleged device.

According to the BBC, Greater Manchester Police said it was treating the situation with Qatar Airways flight QR23 as a 'full emergency'.

Ch Supt John O'Hare of the Greater Manchester Police said of the Qatar Airways flight QR23 'hoax bomb' situation, "An incoming plane has been escorted into the airport by the Royal Air Force as a result of information received by the pilot about a possible device on board."

O'Hare added, 'We don't know how genuine this threat is but it is absolutely vital we deal with the situation as a full emergency.'

After touching down, the Daily Mail said the Airbus A330-30 plane of Qatar Airways flight QR23 was immediately surrounded by armed police officers and fire engines. Armed British police reportedly took the passenger off the plane shortly after the landing.

The armed police arrested the passenger and escorted him away from the plane.

In an interview with the BBC, Passenger Matthew Cox aboard the Qatar Airways flight QR23 said, 'Armed police came on and found a guy, searched him and made him stand up with his hands on his head and took him off the plane.'

Cox added, 'He seemed no different to others on the plane, nothing unusual.'

According to the BBC, in light of the 'hoax bomb threat' situation with Qatar Airways flight QR23, all flights in and out of Manchester Airport have been suspended for around 25 minutes.

Operations resumed about 14:00 BST after Qatar Airways flight QR23 landed at one of the airport's terminals.

According to a CBC report, a statement from the airline said that the Qatar Airways flight QR23 plane was a flight from Doha to Manchester. It carried around 269 passengers, plus 13 crew members on board.

According to an RAF spokesman, the Qatar Airways flight QR23 plane landed safely and the incident is already being handled by civilian authorities.

A statement from Qatar Airways also confirmed Qatar Airways flight QR23 to have landed safely at Manchester Airport, even ahead of its scheduled arrival time of 13:15 BST.

The statement regarding Qatar Airways flight QR23 said, 'The crew onboard had received a threat about a possible device on board and Qatar Airways immediately took all the necessary precautions to alert British authorities.'

The statement cited, 'The crew is now fully assisting police at the airport with their inquiries. The safety and well-being of our passengers and crew is our top priority.'

According to the CBC, the airline will not comment further regarding the matter as police are still investigating the incident of Qatar Airways flight QR23.

Nine incoming flights reportedly had to be diverted to other airports, said Manchester Airport.

Qatar Airways flight QR23 moment of being escorted by the RAF jets and passenger Josh Hartley was able to film the rare incident from inside the plane.

Hartley told the BBC of the moment with the RAF jets while inside Qatar Airways flight QR23. He stated that he became aware of the RAF Typhoon following the plane only later. He stated, 'I thought it was just a one off thing, then I realised it had stayed for four or five minutes. I was thinking of the possibilities.'
