Jeremy Lin could end up with the Philadelphia 76ers within the next 72 hours, as the Houston Rockets find themselves in tight situation after Chandler Parsons signed an offer-sheet with the Dallas Mavericks.

Lin, who has been at the forefront of trade rumors for the past few months, will more likely play in Philadelphia next season, after the Sixers and Rockets agreed in principle on the forthcoming deal.

According to sources, the Sixers will receive Lin along with a first-round pick while the Rockets get financially flexibility to sign free-agent power forward Chris Bosh into a max contract.

"The Rockets have a deal in place to send Jeremy Lin to the Sixers if Houston is able to sign Chris Bosh, league sources tell Mitch Lawrence of New York Daily News. The trade would give the Rockets needed cap flexibility in their attempt to make room for Bosh," according to Hoops Rumors.

Rockets in Tight Spot

The Rockets are suddenly forced to decide on keeping Parsons by matching the three-year, $45 million offer sheet presented by the Dallas Mavericks last Wednesday or let the talented forward walk away without compensation.

General manager Daryl Morey opted not to exercise the final year of Parsons' rookie contract, allowing the former Florida Gators standout to become a restricted free agent this offseason.

According to league sources, the original plan for the Rockets was to negotiate a longer deal with Parsons incase they failed to land a superstar free-agent, but the Chris Bosh situation has been preventing the Rockets front office to make a quick decision.

With Parsons already signing the offer sheet, the Rockets have three days to match Mavs' contract. If they decide to keep Parsons, Lin's $15 million paycheck ($8 million against the salary cap) should come off the books to make room for the deal.

However, re-signing Parsons would also kill the Rockets chance in landing a superstar to play alongside James Harden and Dwight Howard.

Lin with Young Sixers

Lin will be teaming up with a young and talented Sixers team consists of sophomore point guard Michael Carter-Williams, center Nerlens Noel and a bunch of youngsters under head coach Brett Brown.

According to analysts, Lin will get significant playing time as a vocal leader of the team and numbers will improve because of Brown's past-faced offense. However, the Sixers won't provide the chance to win as many games as he had in Houston - which is something he has to accept for the next 82 games.
