According to 26-year-old Justin Laud of Orland Park, the atmosphere in Soldier Field Chicago was 'a little bit more energetic' than that at Grant Park. Laud said, 'Honestly, we shouldn't even be in the round of 16. We're kind of crashing the world's party.'

22-year-old fan Hunter Rich also said, 'This is probably the most competitive and exciting World Cup I've ever seen. It trumps the Olympics.'

Sinhue Mendoza, communications operations coordinator of the U.S. Soccer Federation, which organized events in Chicago, said the city will now be thinking of holding another set of viewing party or parties the following year when the top ranking U.S. women's team competes in the Women's World Cup and the 2018 men's competition as well. He said, 'In four years we'll see where we're at. I think it'll be even bigger.'
