Amanda Bynes can now heave a sigh of relief as her New York City arrest is finally behind her. According to ABC News, the case against the former Nickelodeon star has been dismissed Monday after Amanda Bynes fulfilled and finished the judge's orders to stay away of trouble and have counseling.

According to the Associated Press, it was only last year that Amanda Bynes was arrested for allegedly tossing a bong out of her apartment window from the 36th floor in Manhattan. Building managers had to call police because they said Amanda Bynes, now 28, was smoking pot in the lobby of her residence in New York. As officers entered Amanda Bynes' apartment, they said they saw her lugging the bong out of her window.

Due to the incident, authorities said Amanda Bynes was charged with tampering of physical evidence, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of marijuana.

Reports say that Amanda Bynes' lawyer denied accusations against the actress throwing a bong. Amanda Bynes even also took to social media site Twitter and said that she 'never had a bong' in her life!

According to TIME, there had been a prior arrangement from the court that if Amanda Bynes could simply stay out of trouble for six months and went to counselling twice a week, the case would go away. Amanda Bynes complied and now, after six months Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Lori Petersen finally put a seal on the case and dismissed charges against the former child star.

Amanda Bynes was not present during the dismissal and her lawyer appeared in court instead. Amanda Bynes' attorney, Gerald Shargel, submitted the affidavit saying the actress had been obedient and has complied with requirements of the court.

Shargel said outside court, She did her counseling and it's now all behind her.'

Amanda Bynes has had a series of legal issues after the incident of her throwing a bong outside her apartment.

In February this year, Amanda Bynes pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving after she clipped a sheriff's patrol car in Los Angeles County in April of 2012. Because of this, Amanda Bynes was sentenced to three years probation and three months of alcohol education classes.

Last year, Amanda Bynes went to an inpatient rehab program apparently of her own accord after authorities found that she set a small fire inside the driveway of a home in Thousand Oaks, California.

Amanda Bynes later began fashion design classes at a local college. The actress was 13 when she became the star of Nickelodeon's "The Amanda Show." She also starred in the TV series "What I Like About You." Amanda Bynes  eventually upgraded to the big screen with playing lead roles in movies such as "What a Girl Wants," "Hairspray", "She's the Man" and "Easy A" in 2010.
