The legal drinking age is changing to 25 starting August 2, 2014. At least that's what the Internet is saying. However the legal drinking age in the U.S. won't be changing, so those who just turned 21 don't have to fret. The report is nothing more than an Internet hoax.

Many have come across rumors on the Internet that the legal drinking age will be 25 starting in August. The rumor is being spread on social media sites through what appears to be an ABC News link. When people see the link, they're taken to a page that first says "As of August 2, 2014 legal age to drink wil be 25. There has been controversy whether 21 is too young to make decisions. Alot of citizens state at that age they are not mentally responsible to drink. So the legislation at the White House has come to an agreement to have legal age changed to 25."

However within a few seconds, the page changes to a GIF os Leonoardo Di Caprio and says  "We are sorry but you were tricked! It was just a joke!!!" The news is just a cruel Internet prank and many are falling for it. At least five million people have come across the page so far. Under the photo of Leo is a message that encourages others to share the prank and says  "Don't worry, you are not the only one. 5056815 people already fell for this. If you liked the joke, you can share it and trick your friends. Also you can create a joke of your own clicking the button below!"

Not everyone who came across the rumor realized that it was fake. Some took to Twitter to discuss the news of the legal drinking age changing. Some examples of those tweets include:
"Wtf theyre changing the legal drinking age to 25?on august... I only have one month to drink legally now."
"Did anyone else hear, the government has passed a law that'll begin next month changing the legal drinking age from 21 to 25 ???"
"The fact that they changing the legal drinking age to 25 is some BS taking all the fun out of a 21st Birthday."

Don't worry kids. As soon as you turn 21, you can still drink legally.
