Miss Indiana Mekayla Diehl, despite not winning the Miss USA 2014 pageant, is presently receiving a lot of attention and praises from the public, especially from netizens, for her "normal figure".

Unlike the other contestants who have strict diets, Diehl claimed to have "pigged out" with her family and friends after the competition Sunday in Baton Rouge. They ate "to their heart's content" what the restaurant had to offer, such as beignets, crawfish, fried gator, and wine.

Diehl, 25 years old, was able to make it to the Top 20, but was not included in the call out for the Top 10. However, among all of the 51 contestants who walked on that stage, Miss Indiana received a lot of positive feedback and compliments for not being as thin as her rivals. In fact, her figure made her steal the show as she confidently strutted across the stage wearing only a bikini and heels.

Here are some sample tweets of her online praise: "Miss Indiana shows you don't have to be super skinny to be beautiful"; "Finally, a contestant that's not a bag of bones"; "The fact Miss Indiana is not a complete twig makes me really happy"

According to the 2009 survey conducted by Women's Wear Daily and a 2012 report from US Center for Disease Control & Prevention, the average American woman is a size 12 with a Body Mass Index at 33%. Diehl wears a size 4, is 5'8 in height and has a BMI of 18%. Although she is not as thin as her other Miss USA competitors, her statistics are relatively closer to the norms as compared to theirs.

Since her Miss USA pageant appearance, Diehl has onstantly been receiving a lot of invites for interviews, both local and national TV news stations, such as the Today Show, Inside Edition, and Fox News.
